Your kid's next adventure starts here!

The Undiscovered Lands runs small, weekly online Dungeons & Dragons games for kids and teens ages 9 and up. No experience necessary. Start with a free one-hour introductory session, meet one of our Dungeon Masters, and see how it all works.

Their new favorite day of the week!

D&D is part game, part storytelling, part problem-solving — and all of it happens with other people.

Players work together, make decisions, take risks, solve ridiculous problems, and build a story that belongs to their group.

For kids who already love fantasy, games, drawing, writing, acting, or making up stories, it gives all of those interests somewhere to go.

And for kids who have wanted to play D&D but haven’t had a group to play with, that problem is solved.

What happens in the intro session?

The intro session is a simple way to try The Undiscovered Lands before joining an ongoing game.

During the one-hour session, your child will:

• Meet a Dungeon Master

• Learn the basics of how D&D works

• Play through a short adventure

• Get comfortable with the online setup

• Get help choosing and playing a character

Afterward, we can help you find an ongoing weekly group that fits their age, experience level, and schedule.

What weekly games look like.

Players meet online every week for a two-hour D&D session in the same groups of 3-6.

Campaigns continue from week to week.

DMs use well crafted visuals, music, and sound effects to immerse the kids in their world. This is a premium experience you won't get anywhere else.

Players aren’t just dropping into random games. They’re building characters, friendships, running jokes, rivalries, terrible plans, and occasionally surprisingly good plans.

The adventure is imaginary. The connections are real.

The Undiscovered Lands takes place on a screen, but the important part is what’s happening between the players.

They have to listen to each other.

They have to explain their ideas.

They have to make decisions as a group.

They have to improvise when the plan goes wrong.

And the plan usually goes wrong.

That’s a big part of the fun.

No D&D experience necessary.

Some players arrive already knowing every spell and monster in the game.

Others have never rolled a twenty-sided die.

Both are fine.

New players learn by playing. There’s no rulebook kids have to study before the first session (although if they want to, they are welcome to read the Player's Handbook, but this isn't required). Our Dungeon Masters help players as they go.

Experienced players still have plenty of room to dig deeper into strategy, character-building, roleplaying, and the campaign world.

About The Undiscovered Lands.

The Undiscovered Lands began during Covid when Gabe (founder) noticed his 9 year old son had been keeping a journal of his D&D games entirely on his own.

Realizing that D&D was a great way to get kids excited about reading and writing, Gabe founded The Undiscovered Lands as a vehicle for spreading its benefits to other kids who might not have a group to play with.

That was over five years ago, and since then it's grown to include more Dungeon Masters, more kids, and years of epic adventures.

Many of the kids have been in the program since it started, and count the kids they play with every week amongst their closest friends.

What parents are saying...

I don't think there's anything my son looks forward to more than his D&D game. He starts counting the days until the next session the moment the last one ends. It's become such a wonderful part of his week, and I love knowing he has this little group of friends he gets to go on adventures with.

My favorite part is listening to my daughter tell me what happened after every game. Half the time I have absolutely no idea what she's talking about, but I love hearing her so excited about something she's creating with other kids.

It's been remarkable watching my son's confidence grow. When he started, he was pretty shy and hesitant to speak up, especially around kids he didn't know. Now I hear him making plans, debating, and occasionally taking charge of the whole group.

We tried a couple of other online D&D programs before finding The Undiscovered Lands, and the difference was night and day. The Dungeon Masters here are incredible. They make sure everyone is involved, keep the games moving, and somehow manage to make every kid feel like an important part of the story. I really can't recommend this program enough.

My son started with The Undiscovered Lands in middle school. Five years later, he's getting ready to graduate high school, and he still logs in every week. He's grown up with this group, and the friendships and stories they've built together have become such an important part of his life. I honestly never imagined that signing him up for a D&D game would turn into something this lasting.

My daughter has always had a big imagination, but finding other kids who shared her interests wasn't easy. From her very first game, she felt like she belonged. Now she's got this wonderful group of kids who get excited about the same things she does. I think that's what makes The Undiscovered Lands so special. It's not just about playing D&D. It's about finding your people.

Frequently Asked Questions.

How old do players need to be?

The Undiscovered Lands is for kids and teens ages 9 and up. Players are grouped with other players around their same age.

Does my child need to know how to play D&D?

No. Complete beginners are welcome. We teach new players what they need to know as they play.

What is a Dungeon Master (DM)?

This is a term for the person who runs a Dungeons & Dragons game. Think of them as a kind of coach and referee in one.

Is this a class?

Not really. It’s a D&D game. However, to play D&D, kids must look things up in books and online, read and understand complex concepts, convey learnings to the rest of their group, work with math and statistics, problem solve creatively in a group, and work with others towards a common goal. So while it's not a class, there's plenty of learning going on (but don't tell them that!).

How large are the groups?

Groups have 3-6 players.

Where do games take place?

Games are played online. Players can join from home using a computer or tablet and Zoom.

How long are the weekly games?

Regular games are two hours, once a week.

What does an ongoing game cost?

$45 per player per week, automatically billed as a subscription. Unlike other after school activities, there's no big upfront costs, and if your kid needs to take a week or two off, you don't pay for those weeks.

What happens after the intro?

If your child wants to continue, we’ll work with you to find an ongoing group that fits their age, experience, interests, and schedule.

They get to play. You get to see how the program works. And there’s no obligation to join an ongoing game afterward.
